365 days of pictures day 133 purple lily

we have had several "hard" freezes over the last week, however God's beauty still continues to shine.  I went outside enjoying the beautiful (70) day for the end of October and found this lily blooming and there are several more waiting to bloom.

I am so glad that the frost doesn't hurt them, and that God has allowed their beauty to continue to shine.
Purple is my favorite color so that is another blessing for me.

Bob and I are doing wonderful and in a short time we will be together again.

Hope everybody's Monday is going great

Day 4 of our 65 Day Journey

Today my goal is being with the love of my life
we have so much fun being together and being in love.  Bob's daughter tells us we are like 2 teenagers in love, even if he wouldn't share the restroom.

Now, I guess you all wondering how this is setting with our goals on the journey with God.  Well Bob and I have based our whole relationship with GOD.

We have spent hours upon hours talking about where we would both like to attend church and have come to the agreement as long as they teach the Bible then we will not mind.  With God on our side we can't go wrong.

Shawn over at http://coloradobeckers.blogspot.com is also hosting a 30 day Thankful list.
Come on and stop and give Shawn some love.
Day 1 of my 30 day Thankful list.  I am thankful for Bob's Unconditional love for me and that our love is growing everyday.  Also, that we have put our faith in God above.  That God continues to let us see things that we normally wouldn't see.

Our daily devotional for couples says this   It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, . . . who stretches out the heavens like a curtain. ISAIAH 40:22

Ask almost any gathering of Christians to name one thing they wish they knew more about and prayer would be near the top of every list. I understand that. Yet perhaps in longing for those far-off secrets of spiritual success, we overlook prayer's simplicity and beauty. Perhaps in searching for answers, we forget that prayer in its simplest form is a reverent conversation with God.

One of my favorite places to go on our little piece of property in the woods is the picnic table down by our fire pit. I often find myself there, not on the bench, but sitting on the table itself—looking out at the sky, the treetops, the hills in the distance. Usually within the first minute or two of leaning back on my open palms, I find myself reflecting upon God, His greatness and the beauty of His creation. It's easy to see from my picnic table: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). We are His. We are here only because . . . He is.
It's so simple, isn't it? The perspective from my picnic table says that it is.
Perhaps it's because all we see sometimes are sidewalks and skyscrapers.
Shopping centers and new construction. Office walls and commuter traffic.
In the midst of a noisy, hectic life, we don't notice the pinks and purples of a morning sunrise. Our prayer life takes the staccato form of our non-stop lifestyle, with all the depth of a coffee-break conversation.
But what if you knew that all it took to kick-start your prayer experience with God was to locate one of His billowy clouds floating effortlessly across a city skyline . . . and begin to remember who made it . . . and who made you . . . and who has the affairs of your marriage and family safely in the grasp of His loving, caring arms?

Do you make prayer harder than it is? What helps remind you most often that God is there?

Day 3 of 65 journey

Welcome to day 3 of our Journey  if you haven't checked out http://theprairiemaid.blogspot.com you really should stop by and be truly blessed we are taking a 65 day journey.

Today I found some quiet time just for "my Heavenly Father and me, I feel so cleansed after spending time alone.   I was also reminded, no matter when I think I am alone he is always there beside me

Psalm 32:1-2
Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2.  Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
                             when I was suffering from
                         anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
      "You promised me Lord,
         that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
                                 there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"

                                 The Lord replied,
                          "The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints,
          is when I carried you."

What a beautiful day!! the weather is awesome for the end of OCT
I did get some much needed quiet time in with praying & reading my devotionals

Thank you Lord for opening my eyes and making me realize that no matter how hard I think it is here, somebody else is always going through more.
Job 41:8
If you lay a hand on it, you will remember the struggle and never do it again!

Bob and I are doing wonderful and soon we will be together again

65 days to a new beginning

First of all I am really having a tough time with the challenge, however I am a go getter not a quiter
Satan has been "really bugging" me the last 3 days.  Now it is time to get on with what is the important thing here and that is to work on my list of goals to be reached by the end of the year.

letting Satan know that no matter how much he wants to be here, I have a much higher power!
 Getting closer to God
 Reading my Bible more
Being with Bob (this is my first goal) and it is happening very soon!
Telling my parents that "I LOVE THEM MORE"
getting more prayer and quiet time in with my "HEAVENLY FATHER"
believing more in miracles (as I have witnessed first hand)
helping those in need more

I have so many more it is really hard to write them all down.
I know that God is very much here with us all the time, the beauty that he gives to us each and every day,
his undeserving grace,  and so much more.
Matthew 16:23
Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind meSatan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”
hope everybody is having a great Monday

Fingerprint Friday

Fingerprint Friday

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of god
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of god
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of god

So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them? Here's how to join in.

1. Blog with your interpretation of God's fingerprints. Be sure to link back here so others can find the entire list of participants!
2. After you've posted your blog, sign the Linky below. Have fun exploring the other links as well!
Please only sign in if you're participating. Hopefully this will make us look at things through fresh eyes throughout the week!
-------------------
I think this picture speaks for itself.   I see God's fingerprints everywhere in this picture, the colors, the sky, the grass even the fence.
1 John 4:9  In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.
Bob and I are doing wonderful, I hope and pray that the colors are still here when he gets back.

30 days of Thanks

Cheryl over here at http://theprairiemaid.blogspot.com/2011/10/finding-right-path.html
is starting a 65 day Journey, her description says "..to start the year in a better place"!  I got this from Shawn http://coloradobeckers.blogspot.com/2011/10/thirty-days-of-thanks  if you haven't stopped by her blog you really should.

this journey is to tell about our daily journey(s) with God, after all we all have so much to talk about when we love the (Lord)

A journey that will be reached on December 31, 2011.  The plan is to start the New Year in a better place.

for the first post (since I was not prepared)
I am so thankful for my Savior, and his never ending love for us all.  We all are undeserving of his Grace.  All of us have fallen from that Grace, but can be forgiven when asked.

Tomorrow's Assignment

Work on my list of goals I want to see reached before the end of the year!

Hope everybody's week is full of blessings

365 days of pictures day 129 swinging bridge

102211141248.jpgI took this pic Sat at the nature park, this swinging bridge was long and it was creepy as it was moving one way while I was walking the other way, the bottom was quiet away down, oh gee don't look down, so what do I do?
go to the edge and stand (yes) on my tippy toes just so I could see the bottom of an empty dried up creek bed.

You are all going to get a laugh at tomorrow's pic as it has a road sign on a nature trail that says "caution bridge damaged" that is all that I am saying.

Bob and I are doing wonderful, I am feeling pretty good today (kind of tired, and have bruises all over me from the EKG Tabs, and the tape from where the IV was) I find out the hard way that I am allergic to the PLASTIC TAPE :(
so now add that to my allergies.

Hope everybody is doing well and that your week is full of blessings

365 days of pictures day 127 Does this take you back

Over the weekend I went to a flea market and couldn't resist taking these pictures of the old vintage lids.

I remember drinking grapette and was my favorite
and yes Pepsi (as we say now) is my favorite now if I drink pop.

I know that some of you will remember these but some will not (those of you who don't you really missed out on some of the best grape soda around)

Bob laughed when I showed him the pictures and said "boy does this take me down memory lane"

Hope that everybody is having a great week, and that your weekend is filled with many blessings

Loosing the love of my life  we are a match made in Heaven.

2.  Do you like nuts in your Chocolate Chip cookies?

I can go either way, I prefer no nuts.

3.  If you couldn't change the channel, what tv show would drive you from the room?

South Park, I know it is spose to be funny but it just IRKS me and they took the Looney Tunes off because they were too VIOLENT!!! hmmm I think the ones that watched them most of us turned out ok

4.  Pulp or no pulp in your Orange Juice?

Got to agree with Java on this one no PULP

5.  Who do you miss the most?

This is my paternal grandparents, this pic was taken in Florida 1965
Grandmother Hegibotham (her name was Minnie Lee she passed away in Aug of 66 she was 90) Mom had just found out she was pregnant with me when Grandma passed. I never met her, but from what I hear I have a lot of her traits. They had 9 kids...Grandfather Heginbotham (his name was William Elmer he passed away in Aug of 75 he was almost 100) They had 9 children I was only 8 didn't know him very well other than he was a Methodist Minister all of his life, and he loved to play checkers, he taught me to play checkers. Rest in Peace and one day I will meet my Grandmother Heginbotham.

This is my maternal grandparents. This pic was taken in March of 1987 at their house.

Grandma Rhines *her name was Florence C * She passed away in Aug of 90 she was 81* she passed away from Adult Leukemia . She was a homemaker after 6 kids, they needed that. We kids (cousins and me) always called her mousy ears..I am telling you she could hear a fly walking on the wall this is no kidding! The kids (our aunts n uncles* say grandma was like
that cause she yelled at grandpa all the time.
Grandpa Rhines *his name was Ira Cecil James* he passed away in Aug of 95 he was 81* he passed shortly before his 82 birthday. He passed from some rare liver disease. He drove for the school system yes a school bus for all of his life. Mom will tell us how he always took them on the band trips.

I was very close to them it was hard when they passed, as I suddenly realized wait a minute I am 28 yrs old and I Have no grandparents left. It's hard not getting to share those stories with them any longer,
but what memories we all had...my cousins and I are all starting to do the "remember when" it's kind of funny in a way.

Make sure to get all of those memories before its too late, and who cares if we hear the same story over and over. I wish I could hear those stories one more time.

 ----------------------------------------------------------------
Time to link up and meet!!

PLEASE either put the Meet Me On Monday button in your post or link  your post back to me.  I have found several people just posting the  questions and answers in their post and no one knows that they actually  belong to a meme and linky!

Hope everybody is having a great week and that your Monday was blessed
