Family Issues

Hello to all of my friends n family I would like to ask all of you to
remember to say a prayer.  My niece whom I love very much
goes from a bad situation to a worse one.  She was beaten very badly on
Friday night, there was alcohol involved and she was arrested for
public intoxication.  This is sad because she has a 2 1/2 yr old adorable little boy

We are hoping she hasn't turned to drugs, but do know there is a bad alcohol
problem.  I have told the family the only thing we can do is pray and pray
hard.  SO this is why I am turning to my friends n family here.

Please also keep in your prayers that sometime here in the very near future
that I get some reliable internet.  :)  that is the reason I have not posted on the blog.

Thank you all

Gilligan will be here soon!! so pray for his arrival

A Hodgepodge of Thanksgiving Vol 102

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
Joyce over at from this side of the pond does
a really nice blog hop, you should hop on over and join in on the fun

1. Turkey-love it or leave it? White meat or dark?  What's your favorite thing to make using leftover turkey?
I love turkey, either is ok :) as long as the turkey is moist its all that matters
turkey salad

2. Gotta burn off all those carbs the day after a holiday feast so which would you rather do-run a 10K or climb a mountain?
oh definitely climb a mountain

3. Do you feel like social networking has made your relationships better or worse?  Explain.
being, that I am away from my friends, family it is great, as this is how I stay in touch with them all ;)

4. How do you find and express gratitude for the hard things in your life?
We have all seen hard times, but I am very thankful to have a decent job
even if I do have to deal with stress, I do realize there are alot of people out
there who would love to even have a job

5. In the US the day after Thanksgiving has been dubbed 'Black Friday'.  Is most of your holiday shopping done live and in person or is done more through the magic of the Internet? How do you feel about stores opening at midnight on Thanksgiving?  Will you be out amongst the masses on Friday?
I do most of my shopping in person, but will NOT be amongst the Black Friday
crowd working retail most of my life....it is so over-rated!!! and yes people
who work retail are seemed to be as non-essential and yes camping out already!! gez that is the most ridiculous thing I have seen....The stores opening at midnight
NO!!! and in my own opinion those working at Wal-Mart if you walk out  you will get a BIG thumbs ^ from me!!!  it is time to bring back the morals of our country.

6. Speaking of the color black-which black item in your wardrobe would you say is your favorite?
Has to be my lil black dress ;) I think we all have that special black dress

7. What do you appreciate about your life today?
That I still have my health, a great & caring family  (since we are apart this
year, I can't wait for the Thanksgiving video call ...Thank God for electronics)

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
With the sacrifice of his peace offerings for Thanksgiving he shall bring
his offering with loaves of leavened bread   Leviticus 7:13

My 5th question this week is ...

hodgepodge 101

YAYY I finally got on the internet :)  ...Every Wed Joyce over here http://joyce-fromthissideofthepond.blogspot.com/ does a really cool hop...you should stop by and see her,  I love reading everybody's blog, but sometimes due to unreliable internet I can't always get back to you right away

Welcome to this week's edition of the Wednesday Hodgepodge.  We're into a new century here so to speak as we've just completed Volume 100.  This is a friendly group and everyone's welcome to play along.

Last time we played I asked for your favorite and least favorite thing about the Hodgepodge.  A few people said they felt if they weren't in the top 15 to link up they didn't get as many visitors as those who linked up early.  I just want to encourage everyone who has the time to stop back by the Hodgepodge later in the day or week to say hi to bloggers further down the list.  Everyone wants to feel like they're part of the neighborhood!

I try my best to eventually get around to everyone, but I do know I dropped the ball on Volume 100 due to the hurricane and our lengthy power outage.

Okay, here are my answers to this week's questions-

1.  What rule of life should never be broken?
I agree with Joyce of " The Golden Rule"  but I also feel that "honour thy parents" should \
never be broken,  my heart is very saddened now days the way kids treat their parents

2. What's your favorite family recipe?
I would have to say potato soup...nothing compares to homeade potato soup

3. Is the media manipulative?
sometimes I feel they can be, but then if I get tired of it...click goes off the tv, radio, etc

4. are you a fan of the Bond films?  If so, who's your favorite Bond?
I do happen to like Bond...I think the best one was Roger Moore

5. What is one thing you hope people never say about you?
that I am not real or genuine

6. What's a nearby tourist attraction you'd like to see, but haven't gotten around to visiting?
Disney Land....I live 5 minutes from it and haven't made it there yet..

7. Where's your favorite tree?
was in my parents yard...it was 2 giant black jack oaks that had grown together to form a
gigormous tree .....the ice storm of 2007 killed it so last spring 2011 they had to have it
taken down as fear of falling on houses :( it was est of being over 100 yrs old

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
in the world we live in, seems nobody is real anylonger...people who think they are
your friends, turn around and stab you in the back, then if that isn't enough they
turn the knife side to side to make it that much worse...
just because I happen to have a tender, caring heart, does not mean everybody
has the right to trudge all over me.  Thank you to all of my friends on the blogger world
who are always here for me....you guys rock!!!!

One more term

Boy, oh boy I was so upset I literally started biting my nails.  But the kicker was how they announced who had won when 10 states (including CA) the poles hadn't even closed yet...wtheck?   then 80,000+ votes didn't get counted?
I even heard that some of the military "were not allowed" to vote this time

All that I can say is our country regardless of who is in office NEEDS MAJOR PRAYER I have had my gospel music playing all day to keep me in check and I am very proud to live in the GREATEST NATION on the EARTH!!!

God bless America,
Land that I love,
Stand beside her and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above;

From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans white with foam,
God bless America,
My home, sweet home.
God bless America,
My home, sweet home.

Hope everybody has a great Wednesday!!!
