Day 29: I make things

I make cute little wreaths.  They are bout the size of a golf ball maybe smaller.
perfect for those of you who put up a small
Christmas tree.
The top one is one I made for somebody
for valentines day.  Then the bottom
one is Christmas ones.

Very easy to make
pipe cleaners, flower beads, facet beads, fishing string and ribbon.  the beads are 2 of each color together
tie 2 colors of ribbon in a pretty bow
hot glue onto wreath, then glue the facet
bead on top.  I use fishing string on the opposite
side of bow cut to length you want.

Happy Crafting

Happy Settling for the Hodgepodge

Time for the Hodgepodge WED answers hope you all have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving

1. Are you settling for something?
Yes, right now I am settling for being cold :( I hate the cold and that Gilligan will be
coming to visit very soon, I can't wait

2.  It wasn't that long ago almost every store in the US locked doors and turned out lights on Thanksgiving Day. This year many will be open all day Thursday, giving shoppers a jump start on 'Black Friday'. In your opinion is this a good thing or a not so good thing? Will you be shopping on Thanksgiving Day?
No it is not a good thing!!! I will not be shopping Thanksgiving Day.  I think that employees deserve to have that
day off as it is a holiday!!!  If you have ever worked retail, you know where I am coming from.  Black
Friday is bad enough, people getting trampled on, etc.  I will be at home in my nice cozy home watching
movies, etc

3. Speaking of shopping...I saw a recent article on the twelve best shopping cities in the world. In order they are-New York, Tokyo, London, Kuala Lumpur, Paris, Hong Kong, Buenos Aires, Vienna, Dubai, Madrid, Milan, and Seoul.
Ever shopped in any of the cities listed? In which city would you most like to pull out the plastic or cold hard cash?
I have never shopped in either of those cities. however I have shopped in LA and Hollywood on Rodeo Drive
it was an experiment of a lifetime.   Of the ones mentioned above, I want to go to London one time before I die.

4. When did you last dine by candlelight?
Has been quiet sometime 24 yrs ago when I married my now ex husband.

5. What do you have too much of?
Right now leaves, every time I open the door leaves come blowing in.  I love the fall though
so, I can deal with leaves

6. The Hunger Games...are you a fan? Did you read the book(s)? Will you/have you see the movie? Will you/have you seen Catching Fire?
I haven't seen any of the movies nor read books

7. Share your plans for Thanksgiving Day. The who, the where, the what..especially the what! As in what's for dinner? If you're one of my International visitors, whose homeland doesn't celebrate American Thanksgiving (the whole world doesn't ya know!) then still tell us your plans for Thursday.
going to families in OKC well mom n I made pies today, sweet potato pie *or casserole*
Turkey, Ham, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, many desserts, rolls

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
I hope all of you have a very Happy Thanksgiving and if you travel be safe.  If you go shopping on
Pre black friday or black friday please be safe!! people can be idiots driving, grabbing stuff out
of your hands, or trampling over you

Day 24 ugly looking clouds

while getting ready to go to my parents tonight I noticed the sky was
kind of eerie looking took the picture and noticed it had all kind of
swirls in them, weird I say as I have never seen clouds that were swirly like that.

Freezing temps moving in as well as freezing rain/rain mixture
I am not ready for the snow and the cold weather.
It was 54* at 5:00 by 7 it was down to 41 at 925 it is down to 39 with strong
north winds.  BURRRRR please close the northern gate

Day 23 and WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

How cute is this?  One of my friend invited
me out to help milk goats and yes it was fun
I have never had goats milk until now and I
have to say it is quiet good.

These 2 goats are the milkers getting almost
a gallon every day.  They put their head
thru the fence to say "CHEESE" they
are sisters, hence one is still chewing her
cud.  They are both pregnant with Spring babies I can't wait to see those lil kids.

The kitties wait patiently for the nice warm
milk everytime I turned around there was more of them all black.  Last count was 15

They also gave me fresh turnips radishes
YUM  one turnip weighed in at 3.6 lbs it was gigormous.  If mom hasn't cut the other one up
I will get a pic of it and share.

Do you enjoy working on the farm?

The Hodgepodge only the Hodgepodge

here are my answers  to the hodgpodge
questions posted yesterday  make sure to link
after you are done.

1. What lesson has failure taught you?
pick up my feet and try again, and sometimes you have to think outside the box
to get ahead in life.
2. What decision are you glad you made?
first of all my faith,  the decision to move back to OK to be closer to my family
living 1800 miles from family stinks BIG time with aging parents who are afraid of
flying and the drive was too much on them.

3. I've been a little bit surprised to see fully lit and decorated Christmas trees
popping up for the past several weeks in friend's Instagram feeds.
So tell the truth-is your tree up and decorated, and if so when did that happen?
If not, when will you be decking the halls?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! I am like you Joyce it is still AUTUMN.  I put my Christmas
tree up "black friday" while everybody else is out shopping I am decorating.  I do not
do black friday sales no matter the cost or how cheap.  After, working retail I refuse to
do black friday shopping

4. Solitaire-Poker-Rummy-Hearts-Go Fish-Old Maid...which game of cards
would you most like to join?
I love Rummy, and also hearts so that one is hard to choose, I  will have to go with
Rummy on this on.
5. This question comes to you courtesy of a Facebook friend, who once upon
a time had a blog...When you're feeling stressed do you snack a lot
or are you more the 'can't eat' type?
depends on what I am stressed about, sometimes I snack a lot and other times I do not eat
thankfully I do not get depressed or  stressed too much

6.  Have you ever reviewed a product or service on line? Was your review
favorable or less than favorable?
I have yes, was less than favorable as I do not feel *when you uninstall* something
from YOUR computer they do not need to know why!
7. What was the best conversation you had yesterday?
always visiting with Gilligan is the best one :)
8.  Insert your own random thought here.
Funny, Joyce you wrote a bout the "free gifts"  just today I received labels from
St. Jude and from the cystic fibrosis foundation with address labels, to/from christmas
labels ....which like you probably will not be used.   These are both reputable organizations
and like you "HOW MUCH DO THEY SPEND PRINTING AND SENDING'?
If I would have wanted address labels don't you think I would have ordered my own?

And,  I HATE getting voicemail on my phone when they ask for ie cameron, susan, blah blah
NO YOU CAN'T TALK TO THEM this isn't their number, please stop calling me!  well
so in so gave this number...ME I Do not care this isn't them  can you not tell the voicemail
says this is Gina   not the person you have called.  Is one of their family members there?
ME:  NO CLICK GOODBYE!!!!

Happy Thursday everybody

Day 22 old vase collection

this is my old vase collection some of them are pre world war
The one on the 2nd shelf to the right is early 1920's
they were all sitting on my table, I decided to move them and put them
where everybody can see them.   It has a symbol on it and found it on
the internet they actually answered my questions as to how old it is.
I have added a new one that came from Germany it is from the 40's as well

The green one is 1940's
on the bottom shelf, the ones on the left hand side (I think about 40's to 50)
there is no more like them

Sorry the picture is kind of dark, but gives an idea of my vases

hope everybody is having a great week :) blessings

Day 20 more fall colors

Take your photos with your phone, camera, or find

it in your archives. We don't care.

We just want to see your vision.

I couldn't decide which pic to choose from all my colors
all but the bottom pic was taken this year down by my parents
the bottom was taken in 2011 but goes with the theme today :)

pic #2 is at the nature center
where I often visit.

<<<#3 is right down the road
from my parents

#4 is the old general store during the war, I have been told civilians and soldiers waited for the bus to pick them up to go off to war.

#5 is my front yard where I lived
before moving to CA.  my yard now only has a few trees and they have
not given much color ;(

#6 is very similar to  #1 just a little later in the fall ;)

Do you have seasons where you live?
I love living in a state that has 4 "REAL" seasons, but could do without WINTER because I do not do well in the cold!!!

Trees come in many shapes, height
colors, colors of their bark, texture of bark, and leaves.
Isn't it amazing how God created them all so mystically to give us our array of colors?

Here is a poem I wrote a couple of years back and
felt I would share again, it goes along with the leaves

THE PRETTIEST LEAF
If I were a leaf floating from the trees, I would be the prettiest leaf ever seen.  I may be orange,  red, yellow, brown or green but no doubt I would be the prettiest leaf seen.  I may be tattered or whole intact if I am tattered and torn I will still be there for you to adorn.  Will you wonder why I'm tattered or will you know it came from falling from the sky so high?  Or will you just guess its from all the walking feet?   I may be big small or in between, but will always be the prettiest leaf you've ever seen.

Day 17 Beautiful OK fall sunset

 while on my weekend
venture, walking down a
nature trail, deciding to take
a quick trip up to the lake
and what amazement
my eyes seen.
It was well worth that extra 5
min hike to catch this simple
beauty.
Couldn't decide which one
was the prettiest so posted
them all.

OK has some of the most
beautiful sunsets I ever
seen in my life.

Hope everybody is having a
great week and it is filled with
many blessigns

Ephesians 4:26-27 (KJV)

Be ye angry, and sin not:
let not the sun go down upon
 your wrath:
Neither give place to the devil.
