rte 66 wedding and reception suggestions

This is Bob arriving on the train to meet me :)
the 2nd picture were running down 66 to where we are going to be getting married
3rd picture somebody just wanted a cute picture of us
4th picture standing in front of a Welcome to Tulsa sign
5th picture is (collage we made of our 66 ideas)
6th is Where the wedding/reception will take place
7 and 8 is ideas of where we will be standing

It is big enough on the inside for people to stand and watch (the class of 1976 had their whole class inside there and all over it for that fact)

Bob and I welcome any suggestions that any of you may have.  We are trying to go with rte 66/ 60's theme.
I think it is going to be so much fun planning our "big day" out.  Our reception may be at another location as there isn't much room for "live music" our music is going to be streamed via our favorite DJ Renni!
from Talkcity.

We will be going to Oregon for our honeymoon to meet with Bethe and her family.  Don't worry Bethe we will have lots of memory for pictures.  Hey maybe Bethe would come to OK and be with us on our "special day?"

Hope everybody is doing great and that you weekend is filled with many blessings

PS yes we have used the pictures before but we love them so much we had to share again

Fingerprint Friday

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of god
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of god
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of god

So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them? Here's how to join in.

1. Blog with your interpretation of God's fingerprints. Be sure to link back here so others can find the entire list of participants!
2. After you've posted your blog, sign the Linky below. Have fun exploring the other links as well!
Please only sign in if you're participating. Hopefully this will make us look at things through fresh eyes throughout the week!

1 peter 1:23-25

The human life is like that of a flower: it blooms and is beautiful for a time, but inevitably fades and withers away. By contrast, God is eternal and will never die or fade away.

Matthew 6:25-34 also tells us of a story if you are intersted in reading it

Hope that everybody has a blessed weekend.
Bob and I are doing wonderful :)

365 days of pictures day 110

Blue has a new paint job, painted with a paint that will never fade anymore.  Blue is so handsome.  You can google "The Blue Whale in Catoosa, OK"   to learn the history.  He even has twitter and facebook.

A nice lady took a picture of me inside the mouth of blue for Bob where I am standing in the days of operation you could go up to where you see the hat on the pic above

The bottom pic is Bob taken in front of  the whale this was taken the first time that Bob came to OK when we met.

Bob and I are doing great and will be together in just a short time

Hope everybody is doing great and that your week is blessed.

365 days of pictures day 109 how much for the doggie in the buggy

Ok so I go to Lowe's today and this cute (some kind of ) Terrier (wild hair I believe)  anyway I was on the phone with Bob and started laughing so hard as it's not every day you see a doggie in a buggy at Lowe's.

He wasn't camera shy that is for sure.  I asked his owner if I could take a pic mom is like sure.  I actually think he is smiling ;)

The song  "How much is that doggie in the window" came to mind, but instead...how much is the doggie in the buggy.

Bob and I are doing great, he is getting better each day :)

Hope each of you are having  a blessed week don't forget Thankful Thursday.

Hodgepodge Wednesday

The Wednesday Hodgepodge is Nuts-Vol 46

Welcome to the Wednesday Hodgepodge...so glad you've joined the fun today. Add your link at the bottom of my post and then hop around to see what everyone else is saying. Here are my answers-

1. It is officially fall here in North America...I realize not everyone who participates in the Hodgepodge lives in North America, but if you do what's your favorite memory of Summer 2011? If you're not in North America, what's your favorite memory of the season just ending on your side of the world?    My favorite memory of 2011 has to be the 90+ days of over 105* outside, records were set from the 1930's   and the beautiful flowers that Bob sent to me right after my birthday in May (he sent flowers in June) then again in Aug.
2. Your favorite nut? You know I mean the edible kind, right?
Roasted pumpkin seeds oh wait is that a nut?  otherwise cashews

3. What activity puts your sense of balance to the test?
Oh definitely heights for me, I always have that sense of falling

4. How would you describe your sense of humor?
Wise & witty  I am very comical and never know what response you may get when you asked me something.  Unless we are talking serious then I am serious.

5. September 28th is National Ask a Stupid Question Day...what's your stupid question?
Hmmmm, I have always heard that the only Stupid question asked, is that one that you do not ask....

6. Roller skates~hula hoop~jump rope...which activity would you most enjoy? Yes, you have to choose.
Well as a child I did all three and was pretty good at them all.  Now that I am approaching my mid 40's I would have to say hula hoop, funny though your hips don't move when were 40 like they did when we were young teens.  Roller skating hurts when you fall when you get older so that is out,    yes definitely hula hoop not so dangerous

7. What's your most sentimental possession?
The engagement ring that I got from Bob :-)
a 1930's ceramic doll figurine that belonged to my grandmother

8. Insert your own random thought here.
I can't wait to be with the love of my life again.
Remember no matter what you are going through, somebody else is worse off, God will never put more on your plate than what you can handle
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect?   Romans 12:2
Joyce, this is for your niece!!!

Hope all of you have a week full of blessings

Fun Photo Meme

Photobucket

This is the "Bench" category  this is sitting in my yard and don't you think Mr. Clay Potman adds a personal touch?  where the little white "welcome to my garden" is at  there RIP my little baby birds and the baby bunny I rescued.  (I did a blog on them both)

and For my Choice   I love shooting nature (nothing like that you can't mess it up)  Only in Oklahoma would you find a pair of boots growing sweet potato vines..I mean really now but I am very proud of my roots and wouldn't change them for nothing in the world.  and no those boots are not on my front porch!!!

The walking stick likes to keep himself camouflaged but I know their hiding spots they generally hide in my plants but a stick with legs I am not going to toss him out.

The Garden spider hangs in the kitchen window, she doesn't hurt anybody and eats the "bad bugs in such"  there is another one in the other window,  it is more stripped than this one.

I hope everybody has fun with the photo MEME  after all it was us who requested a photo meme.

Blessings to you all

ck out the bottom of Blog for cool additions

Hey there fine friends & family just wanted to let you know that we have updated the gadgets on the bottom of the  blog :-)
We got some ideas together about our wedding, so far we have color scheme picked, and chose some pics off the web of (cakes, flowers, rings etc)  We like the idea of the images were using, but would like the cake to be a rte 66 theme.  The flowers most likely will be close to the ones in the picture (did you catch the dog tags?  Bob is going to try to find his dog tags and we will use them) we think that is the coolest idea.
As for the rings, we have a little bit different idea, like the floating heart ones they are very cool.  Now all we need is for someone to be able to make the poodle skirt/shirt and women's tie.
http://bighugelabs.com/mosaic.php to make the mosaic then used Photobucket
to upload to blogger.  You should ck out the mosaic site to make cool collages.

Hope everybody is having a great week, please leave comments  love them all

365 days of pictures day 108 Hibiscus

Found these beauties while visiting my parents tonight.  They are on the same bush but two different colors all I could say is WOW.

The hibiscus usually blooms in the summer, I guess it got confused with all of the HOT weather and now that fall is here it is blooming, better late than never.

Bob and  I are doing great, he is getting better each and every day and says the pain is doing the same.
We will be together again very soon, the time is flying I just hope the last couple weeks fly like the first couple have.

Thank you to all of you who have commented on previous blogs, if I overlooked you I am very sorry..
Hope everybody is doing great and that your week is full of blessings

something special

now that the cat is out of the bag Bob and I are planning a 50's -60's theme wedding

Bob will be wearing the purple vest and shirt under neath the leather jacket
and possibly (white shirt with a bow tie) *the jacket may be too warm to wear for a wedding*

Being that purple is my favorite color, Bob is letting me choose color scheme.    We are thinking of someplace on 66 to get married then going to Oregon to meet with you Bethe :)   One place that comes to mind is the Blue Whale located in Catoosa, OK   (it is my child hood memory and Bob loves rte 66) it is closer to family here in OK  The Blue Whale was a swimming hole in the 70-80's where I frequented every summer.  You can
google The Blue Whale Catoosa, OK to find out blues history.  It is now on rte 66 society as well as national historical society since rte 66 took it over

This is just some of our ideas for now but definitely a 50-60 theme and wouldn't the fall of the year be a great time with natures beauty around us

Hope everybody is having a great week.

Blessings

365 days of pictures day 107 First working oil well in OK

On my ventures today looking for the flea market, I found the 1st commercial oil well in OK  some of it is from the original wood.  It is in Bartlesville OK much of town was built by Frank Phillips (phillips 66 )  Mr Phillips gave back to the community as the community helped him out during the beginning.
If interested in a big oil entrepreneur you can google Frank & Jane Phillips she died in 1948 or 49 and he the following year.

The 2nd photo shows when the well was built and finished.  Today it is a museum type you can walk up to it and see some of the original wood work.

The 3rd picture is the old steam engine that mad the well work properly beside the engine is a tank that I think held the coal to make the engine work.

The 4th picture is actually an old war canon that the oil well workers used to shoot holes in the oil tanks (that holds the oil) if they saw it boiling over the top instead of letting it blow up they would shoot the canon balls into it so it could relieve pressure.  Isn't it amazing how things worked long before electricity?

Bob and I are doing fine and each day he is getting better wow it is hard to believe this past weekend was 5 weeks since the whole seizure and falling episode.

Hope everybody has a great week

365 days of pictures day 102 sunset

once again I was wondering what am I going to do my picture today on, and the Lord blessed me with the most beautiful sunset, one thing about OK we have some of the prettiest sunsets in the fall.

We are spose to get some rain, so please pray it doesn't pass us by, as the weatherman said today it would take a month of slow rain to get us out of the drought we are in  9-12" below normal that is just the NE part of OK, central and western are almost 15-20 below normal.

Hope everybody is doing well and that your week is going well
Bob and I are doing wonderful, please keep him in your prayers as he is in some pain today from his collar bone :( sure wish I was there to help him with the pain.  Time is flying hard to believe we are approaching the end of Sept, but on the good note, FALL begins Friday and I can't wait for the colors to start snapping out, hopefully the drought hasn't hurt them from changing.

Blessings to you all

Do you have beautiful fall sunsets?

365 days of pictures day 101 Spider

This spider is a non-venomous garden spider it is a female as they are the bigger of the two

She is sitting just above my kitchen window, but just about scared me half to death when I walked around she started vibrating and the web was blowing like the wind ..but it was still...
Spiders have a unique way of getting their prey off of them if threatened, they get perfectly still and start vibrating, that was scary. I just knew that big ole thing was fixing to jump on me, I mean come on poisonous of not if that jumped on me I think that I would have just died.

It will live until we get our first hard freeze,   it is  the same spider one is just closer than the other.

Bob and I are doing great :) he has an appointment on Monday with the Orthopedic from his broken collar bone.
You know some people are not happy unless they are causing DRAMA I have never understood drama, thank GOD.  From years of chat I learned that it is very easy to fall into the trap of drama of others.

Hope everybody is having a great week so far mine has been really blessed

365 days of pictures day 100 Justin my great nephew

Today you came into the world as a bubbling bouncy baby boy
August 17, 2010  (you made your mom & dad very proud) but let me tell you your grandparents and great parents were also very happy.  This picture you had no idea what the world was going to hand to you,  Justin you were only 15 minutes old and didn't even have a name yet :(
Meme & Day were so excited about being Great grandparents it was so unreal (they are my parents)

The 2 bottom pictures meme took with her phone and bluetoothed them to your great aunt ...I haven't seen you since you were 3 days old because of your move to Yuma AZ

In the 2nd picture there is 3 generations there, Grandpa Ronnie, Justin and Day  too bad mom couldn't have gotten in the picture so there would have been 4 generations, don't worry little guy I will get some pictures of all of you...SHHH (great) aunt Gina loves to take pics

#3 look at those teeth and those gorgeous baby blues...He is going to make all the girls hearts melt.  I think he looks a lot like his grandpa Ronnie...but there is so many features of my dad as well...he is in the coveralls and hat

The guy on the other end is Kevin my other nieces fiance, which btw they are expecting a baby girl in Feb.  I don't agree with the way they both had babies out of wedlock but I am not going to hold that against the babies...Justin's mom Ronna is a great mom, and Dayna Marie will be a wonderful mom as well... we just found out Friday that she is having a girl  I can't wait to be great aunt again and Bob is excited about being a great uncle again.

Bob and I are doing great and the weather here couldn't be more perfect

Hope everybody's Monday is going great

365 days of pictures day 99 fall is in the air

my favorite season of all is upon us these beautiful red leaves were on the ground so I pick them up and put on the wood so that it would make a better picture.

The red stuff is Virginia Creeper, it resembles poison oak but isn't.  It gives us beautiful red and yellow so far I haven't found any yellow

My yucca plant is almost bloomed YAYY it will be so pretty as there is some pretty pink flowers that are blooming so hopefully they will bloom together

Today was absolutely perfect weather outside fall is in the air
I can't wait for the trees all to start turning, and hopefully Bob will be back before the beauty all goes away.

We are doing very good, just really missing each other, after being together non stop for 6 weeks it is very tough.

Hope everybody is having a great weekend and that your Monday will be super blessed
