just for laughs ;)

took this at Buck Owens Crystal Palace last night
I went there twice this week,  the food is great, and
cheap entertainment..beats just sitting inside the hotel room.
The bottom, pic is well an old lunch pail that has now become a collectors item.

that show always cracked me up and a tidbit of info
it was nominated 20 yrs in a row for the hee haw gospel quartet..and won most of them

the bottom 2 are just a couple of my fav snippets from their show.

Did you watch heehaw? do you watch reruns? recently i found reruns on hgtv or the farm channel

pretty

this isn't a real flower they are fake, but still pretty..and hey they are purple ;)
this is in the hall way going from my room
to the elevator at the hotel where I am staying.

the lower pic I found while browsing on the internet...and thought it was cool so decided to share :-)
isn't it amazing what can be done today with computers.?

Hope everybody stays safe, cool and out of harms way.

Giant TUMBLEWEED (s)

so, today I was on the phone with
mom  at lunch time and this
giant tumbleweed proceeds to blow around the car parked next to me,
then around again and comes smack
right toward my windshield, hits my car and goes all the way across it ;(
so i get out chasing it down so that
can get a pic of it that is the top pic
then it blows across the street
OH MY what have I found here
lots of tumbleweeds the bottom pic
shows all of the tumbleweeds before
they start blowing.
I have never laughed so hard in all of my life, about being attacked by a
Giant tumbleweed  we don't have those
in Northeast OK so I was in such amazement

the next day all of these were blowing
across that open field you talk about looking funny all these tumbleweeds
rolling and blowing in the hay.

HINT::::Never ever try to pick them up they are like thorns unless you are very careful.  I was going to put it in the car and bring it home but it wouldnt fit into my trunk ;( guess i need to leave it for the next person to enjoy.

hope everybody has a very grateful weekend and it is full of many blessings

rip BUCK

this is the Buck Owens resting place very surreal
feeling but also felt like Buck was there, stood there
for a moment and some of his songs came to my mind
and then remembered him on HEE HAW
RIP BUCK you will always be missed (especially
in the Bakersfield area) by your fans and loved ones.
You would be proud of the Palace now keeping your memory alive.  The day I was there Bobby Durham
played and did the song to you  Do You Still Drink
Margaritas?  I guess we will never know.

The pics below are inside of the Buck Owens Crystal
Palace (you can google it)  lots of bronze statues from singes past/present at  the museum...even the Cadillac he won from Elvis in a poker game is on the wall..yes it is a real car.

the caddy

the palace (its lots bigger than this)

inside on the dance floor.
they still have "live"music most
everynight and even host some big entertainment.  TUES and Thur
music is free to listen to plus they have
line dance lessons...hmmm looks fun
wonder if Gilligan has 2 left feet?

do you try to visit local museums when you are away from home?
hope everybody is staying safe, whether you are in the fire areas, flooding or massive heat...please make sure to ck on the elderly in the heat and don't forget your pets...they need shade, water and NEVER EVER LEAVE YOUR CHILD
IN A PARKED CAR OR PET EVEN. on a hot day

something cool and purple

this is really cool, Johnny's pizza
in Bakersfield this is the view from
where I am staying while in Bakersfield
last week the view was stunning with the mountains in the background.
at night it lights up with green lights
and spins it is way cool, but the light
keeps me awake at night :(  I guess
it is the flashing lights that keep me waking up to see what is going on.      Hope all of you are staying safe from
the excessive heat, fires, and flooding.

Gilligan and Maryann

oh how I love thee

Oh I wonder what Gilligan is up too?
sure wish he would come over I could really
use the company, sure gets lonely sitting here
on this island stranded.  Gilligan oh Gilligan
where are you.
now I wonder why I can't get Maryann
by talking through this thingamajig?  Maryann
do you read me? over?

ahhh this is so much fun, thank you Gilligan
for coming and keeping me company today,
lunch for tomorrow?

Gilligan:  sure maryann ...You know what foods
I like.

purple treats

wow these are so pretty the hummingbirds love these flowers so they must be very sweet, they smell somewhere between lilacs and grapes.

The hummingbirds almost attacked me
while I was taking pics.  They are some kind of lily or (bulb) but not sure what they are.  if anybody knows please
feel free to tell us what they are. OK i just google searched purple flowers in CA
and found this   So now we all know what they are called.

Agapanthus 'Storm Cloud' - Storm Cloud Lily of the Nile

Do you enjoy using Google or Bing?
till we meet again....remember us castaways that are stranded here on the deserted island.

Matthew 18:1-4
18:1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"
2 And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them
3 and said, "Truly, I a say to you, unless you turn and become
like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whoever humbles himself is like this child is the greatest
in the kingdom of heaven."

fish pond

found this awesome fish
pond, today while out
exploring.  The place is
an actual landscaping place
but still very cool.
This is (Majescticpalms) in
bakersfield.    I didn't have
my regular camera with me
so couldn't get a good shot
of the overall pond
the weather has finally cooled
off here and once again can breath
i mean seriously it was 113 a week ago
Sunday, this heat here is very dry like the desert ;(

hope that everybody is staying safe
and cool, whether you are where it is scorching or where the wild fires are continuing to grow on a daily basis.

a purple hydrant?

This is out in the middle of no where and when I
say nowhere...it is literally out in the middle of
grapevine, almond trees, tumbleweeds and
pumpjacks..the town is called oildale..
there are acres and acres of pump-jacks
but could not pass up this purple hydrant.

I hope you like the purple....
where do you go to find purple?

cancer survivors

this is a Cancer surviving park
here in CA we thought of
all of our friends and family
members who have fought the
battle and won, some fought
the battle and lost.

the 2nd pic with the family
shows them with cancer moving
slowly in the back, but once
they come thru the tunnel
they are healed and returned
back to their youthful days.
this brought a tear to my eyes. knowing they are pain and cancer free

the bottom pic
is just a small saying
maybe a word or two
of encouragement

We hope you enjoyed
the post for today.
Remember you too can
over come any disease thrown
your way.

Luke 6:19
and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all.

Gilligan's Island Theme song

Just sit right back
And you'll hear a tale
A tale of a fateful trip,
That started from this tropic port,
Aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailin' man,
The Skipper brave and sure,
Five passengers set sail that day,
For a three hour tour,
A three hour tour.

The weather started getting rough,
The tiny ship was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
The Minnow would be lost.
The Minnow would be lost.

The ship set ground on the shore
Of this uncharted desert isle
With Gilligan,
The Skipper too.
The millionaire
And his wife,
The movie star,
The professor and Mary Ann,
Here on Gilligan's Isle.
    (Ending verse)
So this is the tale of our castaways,
They're here for a long long time.
They'll have to make the best of things,
It's an uphill climb.

The first mate and his Skipper too
Will do their very best,
To make the others comf'terble
In their tropic island nest.

No phone, no lights, no motor car,
Not a single luxury
Like Robinson Crusoe
It's primitive as can be.

So join us here each week my friends,
You're sure to get a smile,
From seven stranded castaways
Here on Gilligan's Isle!
