365 days of pictures ~day 45~ box turtle

I was pulling under the shade tree coming home from my parents and saw this beautiful turtle sitting right in the way.  I am so glad I saw him, sure wouldn't want to run him over, he (it) is fairly large
for a common box turtle.

So I get out of the car and go to move him, and he makes his funny hissing noise and tries to close up, I get a pic wow...I know it is a little blurry.

Notice the brown grass already and the spot where there is none...it looks like August here not July.

Please keep praying that we get some rain.

Hope all of you have a great and safe 4th

21 day challenge completed

I took  the 21 day summer challenge, this was one of the funnest (and the first challenge I have taken)

21 days of Summer Challenge day 21 Independence Day

Day 21!!!!!I seriously can't believe today is the final day!!

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, political speeches and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States.  Happy 235th America
This has been a very fun blog hop :) I enjoyed reading everybody's blog.

I will be going to Rockets over Rhema with my friend Lorrie and her daughters.  That is on the 3rd going to get to watch 4  christian concerts....I hope it cools a little bit.  One day will be spent with my parents grilling and hopefully having ice cold melon

21 days of Summer Challenge day 20 summer outings

DAY TWENTY

Today is day TWENTY of this 21 day challenge! These past 20 days has gone by too quickly!! I really want it to SLOW down because I know I am going to blink and summer will be over!
Today's topic is summer outings
This summer I haven't done to many outings however I have been helping my parents in their garden.  I have gone to the zoo a couple of times, and to the local flea market.  Now that it is in triple digits being inside is the perfect place to be, it is even warm in the shade.  We are under excessive heat advisory until 10pm on Friday.  WOW!!! we normally do not have these temps till the end of July and August.

Bob and I are doing wonderful....He goes to the dr tomorrow for ck up and get the results from the x-rays (finally we will know what is going on)

Welcome to my 6th  Edition of Wordless Wednesday!

Wordless Wednesday is a great day to post an awesome picture that “speaks” for itself, no words needed!
Ok so Mr. Caz thinks he owns the couch.  He has got some of the biggest paws I have ever seen on a young cat...he is officially not a kitten any longer as he is a year old.

hope everybody is enjoying their summer
Summer sure came in with a vengeance I am not complaining at all.  We are having AZ weather we normally do not have this until the end of JULY and AUGUST so does that mean that cold will be here in Sept.

Bucket List Day 3 Lake Havasu, AZ

Photobucket

Lake Havasu <<<<<Click me for more info
London Bridge is a bridge in Lake Havasu CityArizonaUnited States, that is based on the 1831 London Bridgethat spanned the River Thames in LondonEngland until it was dismantled in 1967. The Arizona bridge is areinforced concrete structure clad in the original masonry of the 1830s bridge, that was bought by Robert P. McCulloch from the City of London. McCulloch had exterior granite blocks from the original bridge numbered and transported to America, to construct the present bridge in Lake Havasu City, a planned community he established in 1964 on the shore of Lake Havasu. The bridge was completed in 1971 (along with a canal), and links an island in the lake with the main part of Lake Havasu City.

This has got to be the coolest thing that man could imagine.  I mean can you really imagine a full bridge being moved all the way across the country from London?  It came across the Atlantic by boat no doubt.
The falls are awesome...Now GOD definitely had his hand in the making here, this is part of the Grand Canyon, These are not our pictures we are only borrowing them for the blog.

The bottom picture..water paloosa wow!!! Only on tv do you see the boats like that, You might think this is a big party place?

Sure hope everybody would join in on our bucket list. We think we could get our bucket list running to be a big blog.  SO please tell your fellow bloggers.

Hope everybody is having a great summer...I know where I want to be right in the middle of that water over there <<<<<<<

365 days of pictures ~day43~ beautiful sunset

driving home tonight the most awesome sunset came from no where, as it was very cloudy only 45 minutes earlier.  And notice, there are no lines in the picture so that makes it even nicer.  I hate when you have the "perfect picture" and you have lines in it....grrrrr!!!

This was taken in "God's Country" as the saying goes, it has not urbanized only open land.

Oklahoma has some of the most beautiful sunsets (normally in the fall and spring)  I think this happened tonight because of the cool front we had that came through last nigh.  We got some much needed rain.  It was a nice slow soaking rain.  (Thank God for liquid sunshine)

Hope everybody is enjoying summer and staying cool

Today's Topic: Summer Fashion

I am like Jen, I am not a real "high fashioned" person.  I love my capris and the pull overs wow some of those look like my clothes..smiles.  I do wear longer shorts (walking shorts)  I enjoy wearing tank tops like the hot pink one on top...I have one on now...it has beads too how cool is that?  I love flip flops I made some a few years ago with material over the part that goes around your toes...everybody loved those shoes, maybe I will make some and share here :)    When I go swimming I wear shorts over my swimsuit.
Wear your fashion clothes on over tomorrow for the summer reading.
I can't believe only a few more days and the challenge will be over. TIME IS FLYING

365 days of pictures ~day 42~ Hott?

and this was in the shade!!! temp was 103 and index of 111 (we don't get this weather till the middle of July)  26 of 27 days in June have been above 90+
today set the all time hi since 1980 that hi was 100 today was 103.  The all time hi for the over night low also set last night record was 65 (1960 something) last night the low was 88.

I am really not complaining about it being warm as I do not care for the cold weather.  But, we are watering everyday just to keep our flowers alive and by 10am the next morning you cant tell.

We are supposed to get some rain tomorrow, please Lord let us get rain but it scares me as hot as it has been we will get more than rain..(STORMS)  they are already saying bad storms possible.  (but I know no matter where you live there is some element you don't like)

21 days of Summer Challenge day 17 summer camp

Day 17 Summer CampI loved Summer camp,  We went to the Oklahoma Baptist Assembly (Falls Creek)The

top picture is the swimming hole we went to, and no coed swimming, we each would swim for about 30 minutes at a time so it was fair.  Now  they let everybody swim together...time has changed The bottom pic is the new tabernacle it is air

conditioned and has cushion seats...wow,...our tabernacle was a/c all right (open walls and the wind blowing) and those pews were made out of solid OAK and they sure made the bum hurt.  The classrooms also had

no a/c the water fountains in the courtyards is where we got our refreshing "cool" water from.  1982 my first time there I had never been away from home, boy did I get home sick

1983 June 25 is when I found the Lord, it hit me like a ton of bricks in front of all those people I took the walk to the front of the tabernacle, boy was I ever scared!
that night 120 people came to Jesus.

I loved summer camp, wish I could have gone to more.  I still have my bible that I bought while at camp the first time, it is tathered and torn but has been used a lot over the last 27 yrs.  I don't use it now, as I had to go to larger print. (darned eyes)

In my 9th, 10th 11th and 12th grade I also went to summer band camp, being that I was at the school that had the best band in the state at the time, everybody wanted to come to catoosa as the band program was awesome  1/2 way thru my 10th yr we moved to a smaller school band camp there was just as fun, the teacher left Catoosa and the program went down hill, our teacher at my new school was great and our little band (30 of us) played in all kind of contests and won!! our biggest honor was the "best of the best" taken at Worlds of Fun!  So no matter if your big or small you can still have great sounds

Hope you all are having a great summer today with index here was 109 (at 945 in the evening index is still 100)
Come on over tomorrow where the topic is SUMMER FASHION

365 days of pictures ~day 39~ magnolia bloom

Continuing with my flowers This beautiful magnolia bloom (not quiet in full bloom but is still pretty) The brown in the back ground they have already dried up, the pine cone looking thing to the left is one getting ready to open up.

These blooms are so sweet smelling, I could sit and smell them for hours.  They bloom almost the size of a breakfast plate...this one may not bloom that big as the tree is smaller.

Hope everybody has a great & safe weekend

Fingerprint Friday

Fingerprint Friday

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God

So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them? Here's how to join:

1. Blog with your interpretation of God's fingerprints. Be sure to link back here so others can find the entire list of participants.
2. After you've posted your blog, sign the Linky below. Have fun exploring the other links as well!
Please sign in only if you're participating. Hopefully this will make us look at things through fresh eyes throughout the week.

This beautiful cloud came up when I was sitting in the yard last night with my parents and instantly thought of the "Holes in the floor of Heaven" song.  My best friend, Jesus took her dad earlier today (Thur) this was so appropriate for her.    It rained last night so I told her that her dad was already shining down on her.  He is suffering no more.
The video below is Holes In The Floor of Heaven, Steve Wariner

Hope everybody has a blessed weekend.

Soldiers Angels (special post)

Just wanted to take a special post and tell you about Soldiers Angels  (www.soldiersangels.org)  I have been with SA for almost 2 years it is such a blessing when I write to soldiers all over the world, I hear back sometimes through email and some snail mail,  Some have came home and we still keep in touch.

It brings tears of joy to my eyes when I hear a simple "thank you" that made my day.

If you all enjoy writing letters there is a soldier out there who would enjoy getting that piece of mail in his box.  You can even adopt a soldier that is where you send care packages at least once a month.  This is a blessings knowing that they get some comfort things.  You can pick either M/F and what branch of service.  With Memorial Day past....July 4th is creeping up on us do a good thing.  Once you get to the sight it is very easy...you will be assigned to a team leader (mine is very wonderful) that will help you anyway possible..and if need a break just log in and tell them you need off the team for how long.

we can all spend 5 minutes a day writing a soldier, we spend lots more time blogging.

Blessings to you all

Gator is very supported of my writing soldiers.

continuing on with my flower posts...this is a black eyed susan...aka a common weed in Oklahoma

This is a great flower to do the "he loves me, he love's me not game
I love taking nature pictures as they do not have to post.  God puts them in front of me for a reason and that reason is to take pictures, somebody has to.

I love the capability of today's cameras, snap, transfer, upload.  I have a eye-fi card it is pretty cool, I can take pictures and upload straight to my computer.  :)

Hope you all have a great Wednesday
