Day 182 7121 bw

this old bridge was built in 1926 and carried U.S. Highway 66 traffic from 1926 to 1932.  When the new alignment of Route 66 bypassed the bridge

The bridge is 123 feet in length with a total width of 19 feet.  It is the only remaining unaltered example of the Modified Pratt Through Truss design in the state of Oklahoma.

This bridge in Chelsea Oklahoma was added to the National Historic Places September 6 2006

Do you enjoy finding hidden treasures?  When you travel old roads does it take you back in time or do you say "it is just a road"

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

  1. I love to go down old roads less traveled and try to imagine those who have gone on that road before us and why they went that way! Love old bridges too. this is a great picture. I hope you have a blessed holiday weekend. Hope you are feeling better.

    1. Same with me, I love going down memory lane sometimes on these old places I feel like I am there (in that era)
