here we are at Thankful Thursday again how time flies

first of all life got into the way, and had to take a break.  Thankfully,

everything got worked out (once again)

thankful for nice car washes to take my truck thru

the nice weather we have had this week (not what is coming) spose to get

sleet snow and rain over weekend need rain not the other stuff

for my parents health

loyal companions in my doggies they love me unconditionally

my new job that I recently took (part time) helps keep my mind

occupied on positive things not negative.  however, I do wish the 

negativity would leave me alone.

thankful for all the heart felt prayers during my stressful time

new friends I am making at new job

Nuturing the Hodgepodge

1.What is something you'll never forget about the age you are right now?
being close to 50 knowing that 40 will soon be over lol, however something that I will not forget about being 46.....falling when you are older only hurts more.
the thrill of getting my very first brand new vehicle, and being 46 I have learned a lot over the last year, and get this?  my parents seem to get smarter as I get older

2. What's a household chore you've never done? How have you managed that???
hmmm, honestly I can't think of one that I have never done, after
owning my own home you have to learn to do things that you never expected
but one thing I can say that I have not done and will not do is climb a ladder
to clean out the guttering.

3. Does nature shape our personalities more than nurture? Explain.
I think it is a combination of the 2, however I do believe
that when the sun is not shining it affects our whole being, it makes us
gloomy, sleepy and what not

4. Friday (February 28th) is 'Something on a Stick Day'...funny because Zoanna at A Penchant for Pens recently sent me a question for the Hodgepodge relating to this topic.  What's your favorite food eaten on a stick?
Marshmallow roasted over a nice warm flame, nothing better, 

5. Which of your five senses do you treasure most, and why?
hearing, because if you loose your sight you can still hear conversations,
if you loose your sight you can't see what is going on around you

6. What's the best music, theatre, or sporting venue you've been to? What made it great?
well living in OK there is not a professional sports arena but we do have the
bok center where they have hockey, concerts however while in CA got to go to my first professional sporting event even got to see 2 yippieee  what made then great, is that in CA was the first ever to professional arena

1. What makes love last?

honesty, trust, fidelity, sense of humor *if you love somebody whole heartedly* there will always be something coming up.  working out problems

together it is 50/50 proposition not one sided

The Beatles made their U.S. debut fifty years ago this week. Are you a fan? If so, what's your favorite Beatles tune?

Yes I like the Beatles I would have to say ALL MY LOVING is my all time favorite

3. Valentine's Day-your thoughts? Do you celebrate in any way? Do anything special for the people you love? Expect anything special from the people who love you?

Valentines Day is the Day of love yes, I buy mom candy, card 

my parents always get me candy and a card LOL today I shopped for dad, for mom!!  but hey when I get to be 82 I probably will be the same way.  As far anything special from my love, Gilligan's special gift will be arriving at my home which will be HIM

4. Steak or burger...you have to choose. Now that that's settled, how do you like it?

5. The Hodgepodge lands on the birthdate (February 12th) of Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States of America. Lincoln is quoted as saying,"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test his character give him power."  Do you agree? Why or why not?

Most definitely! but not always in a good way  IE look at a clerk

in any retail store who is promoted to MGR the ego goes straight to their heads.   

I do agree with Joyce that Billy Graham remains humble, saving souls and leading them to the cross.

6. Honest Abe's picture is on the US penny (1 cent coin) so I'm wondering...what do you do with your pennies (or your country's equivalent)? It's been suggested the US stop making the penny,and two bills have been proposed suggesting just that, but neither were approved.  What say you?

OH Boy, DO not stop making the pennies, as I always need a penny to pay that extra 2 or 3 cents  and the $2 bill I have a stash of them just in case, plus I will be getting more as Gilligan and I have a deal that involves $2.00 bills so they can't quit making them just yet

7. Do you think pop culture deserves serious study?

not serious study I also, think that it is a waste of money

to study something like pop.  However, some of the pop singers today, REALLY?  no names needed I think we all know who 

our kids are idolizing!!! not a good role model at all

walk all the way over there and "BUG" them NOT  I have been on the
receiving end when geese get peeved and start chasing you it is
quiet scary

February 12 photo challenge where I ate lunch

Today's lunch was at Golden Corral love going here
its not much more than lunch at fast food, but you can
get all you can eat for $8.49 plus tax  large drink and lunch
cost 11.00   love their fondue fountains but not much into
chocolate.   Happy Wed!!

the snow has started falling :(
please pray that we don't get what is fore-
casted 4" by morning.  My new truck has
been DIRTY since getting it 2 weeks ago
because of the snow, freezing rain, freezing
drizzle, more snow.  You know the drill.

It has been above feezing 3 days since the
9th of December that is too cold for here.

Hope everybody is staying safe and sound.

Feb 9 photo challenge Guilty Pleasure and photo a day 76

today's Feb 9th photo challenge is guilty pleasure,  Freddy's frozen custard and
dr. pepper.   I donot rarely drink soda because
of the carbonation it is not good for metal in your
ankle....that is the hardest thing you can do.

The custard is yummy!!! I always get vanilla
custard and heath bar
